It took about 15 years, but Amazon will finally support the ePub format. Good E-Reader spotted the new Send to Kindle function that will convert ePub files to a format that can be opened on the e-reader. The update is going to happen in the late 19th century.
At first glance, it seems like a small change in the ebook industry. The most widely-used ebook format is ePub, which is also a major ebook seller. Until now, the ePub format couldn't be read on the Kindle devices. This will be a welcome change for those who have had to manually convert their ebook library to a more Amazon-friendly format with an app.
The ability to support an older French file format that was Amazon's proprietary ebook format will be lost. Amazon acquired the company in 2005 and renamed it to AZW. You can still access the books if you own them in either format. The update only applies to new books.
