A rep for Ulta apologized for sending an email featuring Kate Spade New York with an "insensitive" subject line. Mental health is an important issue in this country and not something we would ever take lightly. The Kate Spade New York brand partners and the Spade family are sorry. Thank you for understanding as we strive to do better. The promotion that Ulta sent out referred to the death of Kate Spade. The people on the mailing list were shocked by the message that came in their inbox. The Internet is going after the beauty company full bore, with many wondering who the hell the stuff that goes out is. Customers and ex-employees are calling for a boycott. The body of the woman was found in her apartment in New York in the summer of 2018, as we reported. She left a note for her daughter, telling her that it was not her fault. We reached out to Ulta, but no word back. If you or someone you know is thinking of suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. Originally published at 9:50 AM.
