According to a source, the fifth-year option on inside linebacker Devin Bush was declined by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bush was going to make $10.9 million in the option year. He will hit free agency after the 2022 season.
Bush was selected by the Steelers in the first round of the draft in hopes of filling the role of Ryan Shazier.
Bush tore his knee in the first game of the 2020 season and was out for the rest of the year. In his second season, Bush had just 70 tackles, along with two sacks, one forced fumbled and one recovery. Bush had four turnovers in his first season and one of them was a touchdown.
The rest of the position group is a work in progress with Buddy Johnson, Robert Spillane, Ulysees Gilbert III and Marcus Allen rounding out the depth chart.
