The Dora Milaje, an elite outfit of highly trained warrior women, are more than just the Black Panther's bodyguards in both the comic books and movies. They are the spies, diplomats, and a testament to the secretive country's belief in tradition, that is why they are included in Protectors of Wakanda: A History and Training Manual for the Dora Mila.

The title of the movie suggests that the organization is trying to impress upon young Dora Milaje what their organization has done for the nation throughout its history. In addition to the existing lore about the lives of the various men who have held the Black Panther mantle, Protectors of Wakanda explores the connection between the Dora Milaje and Queen Nehanda.

When we spoke with her, she said that her own curiosity about previous panthers led to her wanting to explore the Black Panther.

There are 16 black panthers in the comics, two of them were women. I knew I was going to make Nehanda the Dora's founder.

Being one of the first rulers of Wakanda to venture outside the nation, as well as establishing how Nehanda created the Dora Milaje, were some of the things that made her a legend in her time. One needs to have a deep understanding of the Dora Milaje in order to understand what the Black Panther represents.

The origin story of the Dora Milaje is linked to the history of the Black Panther. It was a lot of fun.

The History and Training Manual for the Dora Milaje will be released on September 13th.
