According to his rep, Johnny Depp was going to make a lot of money for the failed Pirates of the Caribbean movie that could prove his damages. Jack Whigham, Johnny's ex-agent and current talent manager, took the stand Monday as Johnny's legal team continued to trot out witnesses on their client's behalf. Whigham claims that Johnny lost his role in the 6th Pirates of the Caribbean movie, which would have earned him $22.50 million. During cross-examination, it is worth noting that. Whigham admitted that the alleged deal was not something he had gotten in writing yet, but he explained that it was not how the business works. Whigham said studios will usually signal what an actor can expect for the next chapter if one happens, and that these sorts of talks are often had on a verbal level first. Whigham claims that Johnny was supposed to play a key role in Pirates 6 but that all came to a screeching halt after the WaPo op-ed. It looks like Johnny missed out on over twenty million dollars in damages in his lawsuit against Amber, and it makes up a good portion of the $50 million he is seeking. Time will tell who the jury believes in.
