Europe's football governing body says that Russia will not be allowed to compete in this summer's women's Euro 2022, and that Russian clubs will be banned from Uefa competition next season.

Russia's bid to host the men's Euro 2032 tournaments is now ineligible as well.

Russia is continuing its invasion of Ukraine.

In February, Russian clubs and national teams were suspended until further notice.

Portugal, who lost to Russia in the play-offs, will replace them at the Euros in July.

Russia's women's national team won't compete in the European qualification for the World Cup in 2023, while the men's side won't compete in the 2022-23 Nations League.

They will be demoted to group two of League B at the end of the group phase.

There will be no Russian teams in the men's and women's European Leagues during the 2022-23 season because of the ban on clubs.

More to come.
