The mask mandate has been dropped by many airlines in the United States and Europe. We share the list of airlines that have lifted their mask mandates.

US Airlines

The mask mandate has been dropped by major US airlines and they no longer require masks on domestic and international flights. A mask has become more of a choice.

American Airlines

Airlines advised their passengers to make their own decisions after the mask mandate was dropped. The face masks will no longer be required on domestic flights and US airports according to a statement from American Airlines.

When travelling to/from certain international locations, face masks may still be required based on local laws.

Delta Airlines

masks are optional for all airport employees, crew members, and customers inside US airports, and on most international flights, according to Delta.

United Airlines

The choice is yours, according to a statement issued by United Airlines.

Masks are no longer required on domestic flights, select international flights (dependent upon the arrival country's requirements) or at U.S. airports. More comfortable keeping yours on? Go right ahead… the choice is yours (you look dino-mite either way)! pic.twitter.com/hwq678v55d

Up to 2,000 Delta and 1,000 United passengers who were banned for wearing masks will be allowed to fly with the airlines again.

On a case-by-case basis, these passengers would be removed from their no-fly lists.

Alaska Airlines

At airports and onboard aircraft, Alaska Airlines made wearing a mask optional. The unruly passengers who have been put on the no-fly list would not be banned.

“Face masks have been like boarding passes for nearly two years — you couldn’t fly without one. But, as of today, masks are optional in airports and onboard aircraft, effective immediately.”

In line with Monday’s federal court ruling and the TSA’s guidance, mask wearing will now be optional on JetBlue within the U.S. While no longer required, customers and crewmembers may continue wearing masks in our terminals and on board our aircraft.
