Porch pirate steals chemo medication from boy with cancer, family says

LAS VEGAS – A porch pirate is accused of stealing chemotherapy-related medicine meant for a 14-year-old boy who has been battling cancer since he was only 6 months old.

According to KLAS-TV, Gage Haynes takes eight Rydapt pills a day.

He has a rare form of cancer called Systemic Mastocytosis, which is more often found in adults.

In the middle of the afternoon last week, a man — who had an orange in one hand and a soda can in the other — stole two packages from the family’s front door in Las Vegas, the family told the CBS affiliate.

The family says the medication costs them $40,000 a month.
