Obama tops list of most admired people in US, beating Trump


Barack and are the most admired people in the U.S., according to a YouGov survey of admired figures across the globe.

The former president and first lady also landed second place for the most admired people in the world.

was the second-most-admired man in the U.S., but only gained an admiration score of 10.7 percent compared to Obama’s 24 percent. Trump landed the 17th spot on the list of most admired men globally, behind figures like Russian President Vladimir Putin.

was the fourth-most-admired woman in the U.S. and fifth-most-admired worldwide.

And while she failed to make it onto the international list, tied for the 9th-most-admired woman in the U.S. with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Bill Gates was the most admired man internationally, and Angelina Jolie was the most admired woman.

YouGov solicited nominations from panelists from 35 countries before polling residents of those countries on who they admired. Respondents were asked two questions in the online poll – one where they could choose multiple people they admired, and another where they could only select one person that they most admired.
