Florida drivers among most ‘aggressive’ in U.S.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Foot on the gas? Slamming on the brake? You’re probably not the chillest driver.

Fuel-savings service GasBuddy examined data from the “Drives” feature of its popular app and determined the top 30 metropolitan areas whose drivers are considered most aggressive.

The rankings are based on habits like speeding, rapid acceleration and hard braking, it says.

Orlando ranks No. 7, while the Tampa/St. Petersburg area ranks No. 19 — both are considered more aggressive than the average U.S. driver.

GasBuddy also found Friday is the most aggressive driving day of the week, with Wednesday being the least. Orlando was one of the top metro areas that had the most speeding incidents.
