Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will address a press conference at 4 pm on May 16 to provide the fourth set of details on the COVID-19 relief package under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

She is expected to outline measures as per the fourth tranche of the Rs 20 lakh crore financial stimulus package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 12.

Since May 13, the Finance Minister has announced three tranches of the package – each focused on various sectors of the economy.

The first set of measures announced on May 13, which focused on benefits for MSMEs, NBFCs, three tax measures, and support for the Employee’s Provident Fund (EPF).

On May 14, the new schemes focused on migrant workers, street vendors, and small traders. On May 15 the measures were focused on agriculture and allied sectors and small farmers.
