A wave of controversy hitting right-wing firebrand Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) shows no signs of letting up, with a Republican senator on Wednesday calling for an investigation into potential insider trading by the youngest member of Congress.

Cawthorn posted photos of himself at the Eagle's Nest, the Alpine retreat of Nazi dictator and mass murderer Adolf Hitler, along with his comment that he had visited the vacation house of the Fuhrer.

Cawthorn was seated in Congress three days before Donald Trump held his "Stop the Steal" rally. Five people were killed and more than 100 police officers were injured when Trump's supporters rioted at the U.S. Capitol.
Cawthorn was questioned for attempting to bring a handgun and a loaded magazine onto an airplane. He is not charged with a crime.

Cawthorn is a Trump supporter, and his squabbles with top Congressional Republicans don't seem to bother the former president. Cawthorn was a speaker at the April 9 rally.
There are seven Republican challengers in Cawthorn's reelection bid. Early voting begins Thursday for the GOP primary.
