With each passing day, the idea of disappearing into the woods continues to grow in appeal. Even though the psychic damage this wretched hellsite continues to cause, it is difficult to simply let go and wipe away years of meme and hot takes. You worked hard on those jokes.
Leaving the social networking site doesn't mean you have to stop using it. You can keep a record of your old posts even after you leave, because you can download an archive of your data.
Here is how to download your archive.
You can open the account on the social networking site.
If you are on the computer, click on the navigation bar to see more options. If you are on a mobile device, open the navigation bar with your profile picture in the top left corner.
In the navigation bar, you can click or tap on the settings.
Click or tap on your account.
Click or tap to download an archive of your data.
You will be asked to verify your password. Click or tap to enter it.
The verification code should be sent to your email address or phone number. You can choose whichever one you want.
Click or tap to enter the verification code that you received via your chosen method.
Click or tap to access the archive.
Wait to be notified when the ZIP file of your archive is ready for download. It can take up to 24 hours for the file to be ready, at which point you will receive either a push notification on the mobile app or an email to your account.
You will have to do that separately if you download your archive of data. It might make the decision to do so easier.
