The cabin crew at the college were trained by the airline.

The new cabin crew went through 8 weeks of training and exams to be qualified to fly.

Cabin crew training includes safety and emergency procedure, first aid training, image/uniform and cabin service delivery.

Safety & Emergency Procedure (SEP)

I was given a behind-the-scenes tour of the new cabin crew training that included safety and emergency procedures.

The double-decker A380 was very exciting to slide down from the upper deck. You can watch my video to see how I did. The trainee needs to complete the process within 90 seconds.

After sliding to warm up the body, it is time to head to the swimming pool.

The training simulates emergency evacuation on the sea.
Trainees need to work together to install the canopy, simulating real-time scenarios.

After setting up the canopy, it is time to swim in the sea.

Smoke training requires you to wear protective headgear. A new cabin crew member needs to find a baby hidden in the airplane cabin.

First Aid Training

I observed First Aid Training after the safety training.

The video has full training scenarios.

Image & Uniform Training

I went to the image and uniform training after that.

Ab initio wears a red polo shirt until they are in uniform. They were given fresh uniforms and were taught the uniform standard.

The hair has to be tied back in a bun. The makeup and red lipstick will be applied. A lesson on how to wear a hat with a veil.

Cabin Service Training

I went inside the mock-up aircraft trainer to see the new cabin crew service delivery. The trainees go through a lot of training. To see how they board passengers, assist special needs passengers, and deliver meals, watch the video.

120 new recruits are added to the college each week.
