You may end up regretting your choice of usernames as times change.
There are a few things to keep in mind when changing your name on Reddit.
Here is what you need to know about changing your name.
If you don't like the name you chose for your account, you're stuck with it. The only way to get around it is to create a new account on another site. You can create as many accounts as you want, but you can not sync one account with another.
If it was assigned to you, you can't change it. When you create an account with either Apple or Google, you get a preassigned name. You can't change it again once you change that.
You can change your display name at any time. Your display name is displayed on your profile page, but everything you post will be under your name.
There are a few simple steps you can take to change your usernames.
1. You can open your web browser on your Mac or PC.
2. Click on the arrow in the top right corner to select Profile.
3. You will see a pop-up asking if you want to change your name. You can change your Username by clicking on it.
4. Make sure your new name is between 3 to 23 characters by clicking on Continue. The red text underneath the textbox will tell you if the name you are entering is acceptable.
5. If you are sure you want to keep it, you will be asked on Reddit. Click on the Save Username option if you are.
If you are using the mobile app, here are the steps to change your name.
1. You can open the app on your phone.
2. The profile icon is in the top right.
3. From the list of account options, select My profile.
4. You will be shown a pop-up asking if you want to keep your name or change it. You can change your usernames by tapping on it.
5. Make sure your new name is between 3 and 23 characters. The red text above will let you know the criteria for your usernames to be acceptable. Next is in the top right.
6. You will be asked if you want to keep the name. If you are certain, you can save it.
If you already have a usernames, you can use that instead of creating another account. Both accounts can exist at once, so you don't have to remove your old one.
1. You can open the website on your browser.
2. Click on the arrow in the top right corner to log out of your account.
3. Click on the Log Out option at the bottom of the page.
4. You can sign up in the top right corner.
5. Click Continue if you enter your email address.
6. When you are done, click on Sign Up in the bottom to enter your password.
It is recommended that you verify your email address, as it will not require you to. You can switch between accounts once the account is created.
