On Tuesday, it was announced that you can use the in-app camera on the iPad to make GIFs. The new feature can be used to share short clips to your timeline without uploading a full video.

If you want to get an idea of how one of these looks, you can listen to the GIFs I recorded from my phone before I wrote this story.

It was easy to record the Gif. In the app, I hit the new button, tapped the photo icon, made sure I was on the GIF mode, and pressed and held the record button. The steps are demonstrated in a handy GIF posted byTwitter. You can have the start over from the beginning if you prefer.

There isn't a way to easily share them off the platform. There is no option to save a Gif to your computer or phone if you right-click it.

The feature is only available on the mobile device. We asked if the feature would be brought to the phone.
