Rene and Al met up in San Diego to strike a deal, with Rene making a profit much smaller than he could have made on the open market. The most important thing was to get the gold back to the family.

Flo-Jo's Olympic Memorabilia Storage Wars

The most valuable item to Al was her weight belt. After the locker was picked through, the belt was going in the trash. The piece was saved and is in Al's possession.

Rene bought a lot of Flo-Jo's belongings and collectibles from George, who bought Al's lockers at an auction. The same track shoes that were used to break the world record were inside.

Flo-Jo died of suffocation in her sleep in 1998 after suffering an epileptic fit.

Al went through the lockers and took what he thought was important, but he didn't realize some of the best gems were still inside. He knew he had to sell it to Rene.
