Jussie Smollett in Court for Sentencing in Hoax 'Attack' Case

We are live streaming the Chicago court hearing where Jussie is about to be sentenced in his elaborate hoax case.

The actor was found guilty of 5 of the 6 felony counts against him for lying to Chicago police about being the victim of a racist and homophobic attack.

After the verdict was returned back in December, Jussie was not taken into custody, but he will be sentenced on Thursday.

At least in his mind, the saga is not over. He wants a do-over in court because his defense team was not allowed to participate in the jury selection process.

He wants the judge to reverse the verdict and find him not guilty.

The 16 charges that Jussie was indicted on were dismissed and he only had to pay the forfeiture of his $10k bond. The appointment of a special prosecutor did not go over well with the public, who thought it was a joke.

The Osundairo brothers were hired by Jussie to stage an attack on him in Chicago, but he insists he did not hire them.

However, the brothers testified that Jussie paid them to carry out the attack and instructed them where to meet.

The City of Chicago has sued Jussie over the resources spent investigating his claims, which is being pegged at $130,000.
