How to delete your Instagram private messages in 2 different ways

The private messaging system on the platform is similar to the one on Facebook. You have full control over which messages are saved and which are deleted.

If your inbox is filling up, there are two ways to get rid of your messages on social media. Both conversations and messages can be deleted.

How to remove your messages from social media.

These steps can be used for both the iPhone and the iPad.

Deleting entire conversations.

1. The messages icon in the top-right corner looks like a paper airplane.

2. The icon in the top-right looks like a bulleted list.

3. The conversations that you want to remove are in the bottom-right corner.

The conversations you don't want to have are highlighted.

4. You should confirm that you want to remove the conversations.

The other person in the conversation will still be able to see the messages if they deleted them themselves.

You can remove your own messages.

You can use the "Unsend" option to remove a message if you decide to take it back. It will be deleted for everyone in the conversation.

1. You can find the message that you want to remove from the photo sharing platform.

2. You can unsend the message by pressing and holding your finger.

3. When a pop-up menu appears, select the Unsend option and confirm that you want to remove it.
