The San Francisco 49ers might be 4-0 on the season, but the injury bug has hit this team big time. Fresh off news that Pro Bowl fullback Kyle Juszczyk will miss 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL comes this damaging piece of information.

Right tackle Mike McGlinchey will also be sidelined 4-6 weeks and will have his knee scoped after suffering said injury in Monday's blowout win over the Cleveland Browns. McGlinchey joins six-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Staley on the sideline.

We have absolutely no idea what Kyle Shanahan and Co. are going to do moving forward after losing their two best run blockers in that if Juice Check and McGlinchey. San Francisco also now has to be concerned about pass protection in front of Jimmy Garoppolo over the next month-plus.

As of right now, rookie late-round pick Justin Skule will continue to start at left tackle with undrafted free agent Daniel Brunskill getting the call on the right side of the line. What was previously a major strength has turned into a weakness after seeing Garoppolo sacked just four times over the first quarter of the season.

We can fully expect San Francisco to look at outside options for depth after signing Sam Young to take the place of Staley. However, pickings are slim in that regard. Of those on the market, Matt Kalil, Jermey Parnell and Ryan Schraeder have the most experience. Schraeder played for Shanahan in Atlanta. He becomes the likeliest option.

San Francisco takes on the Rams in Los Angeles this week before heading to the nation's capital to take on the winless Washington Redskins. From there, the 49ers must face a fierce pass rush in that of the Carolina Panthers in Week 8 before heading to the desert to play the Arizona Cardinals.

That's the good news. With the exception of Carolina, this four-game stretch does not offer a ton of elite level pass rush. Even then, it has to be pretty darn concerning for the first-place 49ers.

Other Notes

* Fullback is an important part in San Francisco's offense. It has helped paved the way for the NFL's leading rushing attack. It's in this that the 49ers worked out seven fullbacks to replace Juszczyk over the next month plus. That list includes veterans DerrickColeman, Tommy Bohanon and Aaron Ripkowski.

* Rookie defensive end Nick Bosa was named NFC's Defensive Player of the Week after recording two sacks, three quarterback hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery against the Browns. Bosa could ultimately end up being credited with a third sack after Baker Mayfield was called for intentional grounding late in the second quarter. A replay clearly shows that Mayfield's knee was down before he got rid of the ball.

* Replacing an injured Ahkello Witherspoon Monday night, young cornerback Emmanuel Moseley stood out in a big way. He allowed just one catch on three targets when going up against Odell Beckham Jr. That's some pretty big stuff given that Witherspoon is likely out for at least the next month.
