Network address translation is a big part of online games and decides how incoming traffic is handled. If your NAT type isn't set up right, you can establish barriers that will make it hard for you to play with other people. There are many reasons you may have strict or double NAT types on your network, but with the help of port forwarding, you can easily overcome the hurdles. It's not the only method. It is enough for many people to make sure Universal Plug and Play is enabled on their routers. You can change the NAT type on the PS4 to play online.
How to forward your PS4.
The ports you need to open up for your PS3 are the same, but the process may be different. The steps are the same, but you may need to dig around to find what you need.

You'd be mistaken if you didn't know that your NAT type is more important than internet speed. Warframe wouldn't let me play until I made the double NAT issues disappear, because games like Call of Duty and Fortnite are notorious for being a bit harsher depending on your NAT type. It's worth doing.
