Chris Silverwood: England men's head coach tests positive for Covid-19

Silverwood was due to miss the fourth Test, but should be back in the squad before the final Test.

Chris Silverwood, the England men's head coach, tested positive for Covid-19.

The 46-year-old will be in isolation until 8 January.

He is expected to return in time for the fifth and final Test in Hobart, which is scheduled for December.

England's practice at the Cricket Ground was disrupted on Sunday after a local net bowler tested positive for Covid-19.

They have undergone another round of routine tests after completing practice using their own bowling and coaching staff.

Plans to add former England one-day skipper Adam Hollioake to their coaching team were put on hold after he tested positive for a banned substance.

All current Australia squad members, staff and families have returned negative Covid-19 results in the most recent round of testing, and continue to be tested daily.

Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis have been called up as cover, while Nic Maddinson is on stand-by in case Head fails the test.
