The mascots for Nintendo and Sega may not be finished. It has been on gaming consoles for a long time, but in the last few years, Sonic has had a hit movie, and now Mario is getting a movie. Sonic is getting a Lego set as well. Sonic's set seems more fun than Mario's, that's coming from a Nintendo person.
The Lego ideas channel created the Sonic the Hedgehog: Green Hill Zone set. The 1,125 pieces bring one of Sonic's most famous levels to life, complete with all the things that make Sonic, Sonic. Lots of mini-figs, lots of movement, and lots of rings and gems.
The set is out on January 1 and here are some images.
Sam Johnson, Lego designer, said that anyone who has enjoyed video games on any level in the last 30 years knows and loves Sonic. The set was designed to be just as colorful and fun as the in-game version of The Green Hill Zone, then filled it with Easter eggs and prizes to help fans enjoy some of their most beloved gaming icons in a brand-new way.
Lego's Sonic set will be available for $70 on January 1.
