If you find an unwanted AirTag, here's how to disable it

Air tags are used to keep track of lost accessories. The people are also able to be tracked by the trackers. I've tried it and it worked.

Apple allows users to stop AirTags on the spot. This can be accomplished in a few simple steps.

First things first, upgrade to the newest version of the software.

Whenever an unknown AirTag is traveling with you, a pop-up notification will appear on your phone that reads: "AirTag Found Moving With You."

You have to be running the latest version of the software in order to receive safety notifications. The new software update is needed to access the safety features. Updating to the latest software should not be delayed.

If you're not sure if your device is compatible with the new update, here's a list of which Apple products support it.

The newer iPhone 6S and newer.

The first and second generation of the phone.

The iPod Touch is the seventh generation.

The iPad Pro has a 1st and 2nd generation.

The iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch screen.

The iPad is the fifth, 6th, and 7th generation.

The iPad mini is the fourth and fifth generation.

You can either turn off the safety alert feature completely or pause it for a day if you borrowed someone's bag or keys with an AirTag attached.

If you don't know where the AirTag came from, you should remove the battery cover. You can take the battery out by twisting the counter clockwise on the back of the tracker.

When you find an unknown AirTag on you, but you're not a user of the phone.

When AirTags first launched, there was no official way for users to know if an AirTag was moving with them. They had only one option, waiting three days for the AirTag to emit an audible alert and disabling it by removing the battery.

An app was released by Apple to address this issue. With the help of the tracker, users can find nearby AirTags and other tracking devices. Users have the ability to learn more about the AirTag, play it, or remove it if it is found.

The app automatically runs a Scan in the background, but users must manually Scan for an unknown AirTag. This is an ongoing issue that has been cited in many reviews on the store. It's not clear if Apple will update the app.

When you find an accessory with an AirTag attached.

You can use either an Apple or a phone with a built-in Near Field Communication to get some options. If you want to return a lost item, this is a good option.
