If you frequently send voice messages in the app, you may have sent an accidental voice clip. Maybe there is something embarrassing going on in the background, or maybe you have recorded a message and the other person can't hear you. Ideally, it should be avoided.
You can now preview messages before sending them. The default behavior is still to send a message after you release the record button, but you can have some extra peace of mind.
They are rehearsals, not mistakes. You can see a preview of your voice messages.

When you are ready to record, tap and hold on the mic button, then drag up to enter hands-free mode.
The application will start recording.
You can either hit the trash can icon or the stop button in the center if you want to remove the clip immediately. You will see a play button once stopped.
I would prefer it if there was a setting to make previews the default behavior, but for now I appreciate the extra flexibility. It is hoped that Facebook Messenger follows suit.
