eBay introduces an interactive 3D sneaker viewer

eBay has a handy new 3D viewing tool called eBay 3D true view, which allows you to get a panoramic look at some of the sneakers it has for sale. eBay said in a post that it will allow sellers to add interactive images of their sneakers to their listings. It is partnering with a platform that can be used for real-time 3D modeling.

The scans of sneakers will be uploaded to the cloud.

eBay says that it will allow select sneaker sellers to try out the feature, however, the 3D images will only be visible from the app on the phone. To use it, sellers will have to use a proprietary app to take a video of their sneakers. eBay says that the data is uploaded to the cloud and processed using artificial intelligence, resulting in a 3D recreation of the product.

eBay plans to expand the feature in 2022. The 3D feature can be used by any sneaker seller. The feature is live on the site right now, and if you are on a mobile device, you can start viewing sneakers in 3D from here. It appears that not every listing has a 3D viewer, so you might have to look at a few different ones before you find one.

eBay is into the sneaker market. In October, eBay bought out Sneaker Con, a third-party Sneaker Con company, which it was using to combat counterfeiters.
