It's that feeling when you try to use the video button on your phone. You can't get to it fast enough and the funny song your baby niece was singing has turned into a whine. Next time, you can get to that video quickly.
Give the camera icon a push instead of opening the camera. The camera icon in the control center can be used to do the same thing. There's a hidden list of options like video, slo-mo, or even selfies. Click on what you want and it will open the camera for that mode.

Changing your photo aspect ratio, exposure time, and flash settings can cause them to reset too often, so you need to think about changing your default settings.
I discovered that the way I set up my camera is always visible when I open the built-in Camera app. You can set the video recorder as the default mode for more video-inclined people. For those who are always on the go, keep the square setting.

Click Camera Mode to pull up the last settings if you want video or another camera mode to show up. The settings will be reset to the default.
