Blender announced today that Apple has joined Blender Development Fund in support of continued development of Blender's free open-source 3D graphics tool.
According to the announcement, Apple will also contribute to the Development Fund and provide engineering expertise and additional resources for Blender and the wider development community in order to support Blender artists, developers, and other users.
Ton Roosendaal, Blender CEO, said that the announcement signifies that macOS will return as a fully supported Blender platform.

Blender stated that its Development Fund accepts donations to "support activities to provide free, open-access services for all Blender contributors," which includes bug fixing, code reviews and technical documentation.
Blender reports that the fund will also offer subsidies and grants to developers for generic, widely accepted development projects.
