How to change NAT type on PlayStation 4 with port forwarding

Network Address Translation (NAT), which determines how traffic is handled, is an important part of connectivity in online multiplayer games. Your NAT type plays a significant role in the people you are able to play with. If it isn't set up correctly, it can even create barriers. Port forwarding can help you overcome any NAT type restrictions or double ones. For many, simply ensuring Universal Plug and Play is enabled on the router is enough. This is how to change the NAT type of your PlayStation 4 to allow you to play online.
How to move your 4?

While the ports that your PlayStation must open to enable an open NAT are identical, the process can vary from router to router. These steps are the same, but you might need to look at your router's settings in order to find what you require.

Give everything a reboot. You should notice a difference in your NAT type.

To check it out, follow the three steps. The PlayStation 4 will display three types of NAT: 1 is open, 2 is moderate and 3, strict. You can see the changes in your results after you are done. I used this method to get rid of double NAT in my case. I used Google Wifi with an ISP router which can't put into modem only mode.

Although you may not believe your NAT type is as important than internet speed, it could be. Fortnite and Call of Duty are known for being more harsh depending on your network type. Warframe stopped me from playing until I resolved the double NAT issues. It's definitely worth it.
