Instagram is a popular place to view photos, watch reels and watch videos. Instagram is rapidly becoming the best place to go if you are looking for videos about food, travel and manifestation, as well as other topics.
It can be difficult to share the video to other social media platforms, such as Instagram DMs or to send it to a friend. Although you can save the video to your computer, it won't save it to your phone. Instead, it will save it to your post bookmarks. This makes it easier for you to find it later on Instagram.
Sometimes you just want the video on your device. The app doesn't make downloading and saving videos easy. There are many other ways to do this, and you don't need Instagram.
Always check in with yourself before you download any video. It is not a good idea to download content that is copyrighted or private from friends who don't want it shared widely. Here are some tips to download and save Instagram videos once you have made your decision.
1. Choose your video

Personally, I want the Mashable video showing a mixed reality panther running through the Carolina Panthers stadium. Start by downloading the video and saving it.
2a. Screen record
Screen recording is the first method to download and save Instagram videos. Swipe up to find the button that looks like a target on your iPhone.

Next, you can watch the video play through. After the video has finished, click on the red bar at top of the screen. The screen recording will stop automatically. Click "stop" to save the video to your computer. You can then edit the video to your heart's content.

Screen record is not an option on iPhones. There are two ways to save and download Instagram videos.

A third-party app like KeepPost Credit/ screenshot mashable/ keeppost can be used to save and download Instagram posts.
You can save and download an Instagram video in the same manner as you would from Facebook or Twitter: copy the share link and paste it into a third party website that does all the work.
