After being ejected from the KBO game on Friday, Mike Montgomery, a former major league pitcher, hit an umpire with his rosin bag.
Montgomery pitched for the Samsung Lions and was then ejected by umpires after being warned about the 12-second pitch rule. He charged at the umpire while he was being led toward the dugout by his teammates. The umpire was speaking to the Lions manager when he fired the rosin bag.
Montgomery was then led to the dugout where he took off his jersey before throwing it on the field. He then headed to the clubhouse.
The deal was for $450,000. This season, the 32-year old left-hander signed a $450,000 contract with the Lions. He last played in the majors with Kansas City Royals in 2020. He was 1-2 in six starts with a 5.65 ERA entering Friday's game.
In an effort to return to the majors, he opted out from a minor league contract with the New York Yankees.
Montgomery had a record of 23-34 in six seasons with the Royals, Cubs, and Mariners with a 3.84 ERA.
