You may have wondered how to change the iPhone's default snooze time to nine minutes. It's not possible. It is impossible.
Although you might want to know how to set your iPhone's snooze, Apple has always maintained the nine-minute time limit for all iOS versions. We know that this strict snooze period is not helpful for people who need more than nine minutes to get up in the morning. So we devised three clever workarounds that will allow you to buy more time when your alarm goes off.
Although you may not be able yet to change the snooze time on your iPhone, we can help you cheat the iPhone's morning alarm system.
Wait! Why is the iPhone's snooze duration nine minutes?
We have previously explored why Apple's default snooze period around the globe is nine minutes. The reason the default snooze time was set at nine minutes is technical. The iPhone's snooze function was designed to work around the small alarm clock gear. Keeping the time period high while keeping it in single digits seemed to have been a better technical solution.
A secondary reason is that nine minutes is enough time to take a short rest. This may also be due to user experience. Your body might fall into deep sleep after you go beyond the 10-minute mark. This can make waking up more painful.
The fact that snooze can be set to default in a digital age (and in the iPhone's case, unchangeable default), nine minutes, is what is called a "nostalgic artificial norm."
In other words, it's either an homage to how things have traditionally been done, or an if-it-ain't-broke-then-don't-try-to-fix-it type scenario.
Snoozing can cause a delay in one's day. Mashable's Rachel Thompson found that hitting the snooze key can lead to a serious relationship problem. You can try to get more sleep by making sure you are getting quality sleep. But if you still have questions about how to make your iPhone snooze longer than nine minutes, here are our three solutions.
1. Set multiple iPhone alarms
Although you cannot change the snooze time on your iPhone, you can make your own gaps between wakeup calls by setting multiple iPhone alarms each morning. This is the easiest way to prolong your snooze time.
We need to be up by 7 a.m., but we want to hear a warning sound at 6:45 to remind us to turn around before we actually get up.
Your first iPhone alarm should be set to 6:45 AM. Make sure that snooze is turned off.

You can set a second iPhone alarm at 7 a.m. if you are concerned about not fully waking up from the second alarm. If this is the case, you might consider setting a second alarm or snooze to the second alarm. This will give you a 15-minute snooze, then Apple's nine-minute snooze period will resume.

The alarm will sound at 6:45 AM to alert you that it's almost time to get up. Then, the alarm will sound at 7 AM to let you know that it's time to get out of bed.
2. 2.Use a long song for your alarm tone
The iPhone snooze-time hack is not for everyone. It's not suited for people who fall asleep quickly after the alarm sounds. However, if you are someone who sleeps through the alarm, you can change your alarm tone from a short song to a longer one. You'll be able to tell when the music stops that it's time for you to get up. This option allows you to change the timer on your iPhone to an interval of nine minutes. It also gives you a break form Apple's default alarm tones. It's perfect!
These are 10 songs that last longer than nine minutes and you might want to set as your iPhone's alarm tone.
The Stone Roses, "Fool's Gold", (9:53).
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Free Bird" (10.07).
The Doors, "The End" (11.43).
Orbital, "Chime", (12:46).
Flowered Up, "Weekender" (12:53)
Pink Floyd, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (13:22)
Gillian Welch's "I Dream a Highway" (14.14).
Jimi Hendrix, "Voodoo Chile" (15:00)
The Velvet Underground, Sister Ray (17:28).
After you have purchased the song you want and downloaded it to your iPhone as usual, set your alarm to play the song. Go to your Clock app, tap edit, and then tap the alarm you wish to change from a tone or music.
You'll find the option to alter the alarm's sound about halfway down the screen. This is what you need to do. Tap the "Pick a song option" on the next screen.

Now your iPhone will display all of your music options. Just tap on the song to be woken up. To activate this option, make sure you have snooze turned off
3. Get a free, customizable iPhone alarm clock app
The last option is to just ignore your iPhone's clock app. Instead, download a third-party alarm clock application, which you can find plenty of. If all else fails, you can always buy a physical alarmclock. This is a great idea!
We chose to use the simple, free and ad-supported Alarm Clock app. The user interface of the app is similar to the iPhone's Clock app. However, unlike the iPhone, you can change the snooze time.
After you have downloaded the app, set your alarm and go to the bottom of the screen. This is what you need to do. Tap on the "Snooze Interval" button.

This will allow you to change the snooze time of your iPhone.
As we mentioned earlier, you might want to try some popular apps for sleep to ensure you get a good night's sleep and not wake up grouchy. If you are a snoozer, we understand and support you. We hope that this list will help you get the best out of your bedtime. Sweet dreams!
