Gmail 101: How to increase the time you have to unsend an email

You've probably ever clicked Send on a Gmail mail and then regretted it 10 seconds later. You could feel the need to reply immediately, or realize that the email was sent to the wrong person, misspelled, or sent an angry message that you shouldn't have. It doesn't take long to stop an email from going out.This feature is not available only in Gmail but also in other email apps.Gmail gives you a five second window in which to change your mind and unsend an email. However, if you need more time, you can request it. It is a good idea to give yourself more time to think about an email. I have only had to stop emails from being sent a few times but those few times saved me the trouble of having to send an apology follow-up.It can be set up via the web version Gmail.Click on the Settings button in the upper left corner and click on See All Settings.Look for Undo Send under the General tab.You can choose how long Gmail will allow you to change your mind. It is possible to select 5 seconds, 10 seconds or 20 seconds.Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.You will see an option in lower left corner that allows you to undo your email. This option will be available in both the mobile app and the email client. You can click on Undo to return to your email draft.
