Single-celled organism has evolved a natural mechanical computer

One-celled organism walks on 14 legs using a mechanical computer called microtubules. This finding may help to explain why single-celled organisms can display complex behaviours, even though they lack a brain or nervous system.Wallace Marshall, a team member at the University of California San Francisco, said that if you can create a computer from microtubules you can also make the case to look for them in other cell types.Ben Larson, another UCSF student, noticed that cells he was studying were not being studied.
