The pocket watch is a distinctly retro idea, recalling days before one could mount the time to his wrist. Richard Mille's new RM 020 reimagines it for modern times. It's built around a baseplate made from carbon nanofiber composite, crafted under extreme pressure at a temperate of 2,000˚C. Its rectangular case measures 62mm tall and 52mm wide, with a manually-wound tourbillon movement running hours, minutes, power reserve, and function indicators. A Cheval Frères crown protects against overwinding, and the timepiece is finished with a complex titanium chain and matching desk stand.
