A lot has been written about the Nike Air Jordan 1 and how it was banned by the NBA for not conforming to league uniform code. In recent years, though, the myth has been busted several times, with outlets and Michael Jordan historians revealing that it was actually the Nike Air Ship - the sneaker MJ wore before the AJ1 was ready for production - that was banned.
Nike, who had previously pushed the Nike Air Jordan 1 narrative to its limits, even came around when it released the "New Beginnings" pack, which included a pair of the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Ship - Michael Jordan's actual first Nike sneaker.
Now, player agent Aaron Goodwin - who was LeBron James' initial agent - shared photos of a Nike Air Ship worn by Michael Jordan during his rookie season training camp. The pair is from Goodwin's personal collection, signed by Jordan, and believed to be only one of two pairs given to His Airness by Nike.
