The Los Angeles Chargers will sign tight end Donald Parham Jr., according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday.

Parham, who last played in the XFL with the Dallas Renegades, turned down offers from five other NFL teams to join the Chargers, Rapoport added.

The Stetson University product was the XFL's third-leading receiver with 307 receiving yards and tied for second with four receiving touchdowns on 24 catches across five games.

Parham will join Hunter Henry at tight end for the Chargers. Henry signed his franchise tag earlier Monday:

Henry missed all of 2018 with a torn ACLand was limited to 12 games last year after suffering a tibia plateau fracture in his left knee during the 2019 regular-season opener. When healthy, the 25-year-old has been effective for L.A. with 1,709 yards and 17 touchdowns on 136 catches across 41 games (35 starts) since the Chargers drafted him in 2016's second round.

Parham figures to complement Henry nicely and, if necessary, provides depth should Henry again run into injury troubles.

The XFL canceled the remainder of its inaugural reboot season on March 20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Players were given permission to sign with other leagues:

The XFL then suspended all operations and laid off most employees last week with no plans for a 2021 season.
