On Sunday, he the following message revealing he was cleared of the disease Friday:
Smart revealed he tested positive for the coronavirus on March 19 with a video message explaining how important it was for everyone to take the pandemic seriously:
The Celtics guard is one of a number of players and team personnel from the NBA who have tested positive for COVID-19.
The league suspended its current season on March 11 after Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert tested positive, and teammate Donovan Mitchell, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, three other members of the Nets, Detroit Pistons forward Christian Wood and two members of the Los Angeles Lakers tested positive in the following days.
The New York Knicks also owner James Dolan tested positive.
In addition to Smart's announcement, Tim Bontemps of ESPN reported Mitchell and Gobert were both cleared as well.
As a number of players begin to be cleared from the coronavirus, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported the NBA is asking those who have to consider donating plasma as part of its NBA Together program's efforts to help the National COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Project.
The idea is the plasma may help find a treatment for the virus that the World Health Organization confirmed has infected more than 638,000 people as of Sunday.
