NBA referee Courtney Kirkland tested negative for the coronavirus (COVID-19), according to ESPN's Eric Woodyard on Sunday morning.

Kirkland is subsequently cleared to depart from Sacramento.

"Kirkland had been in Sacramento since Wednesday's game between theKingsandPelicanswas postponed just minutes before tipoff because he also had been assigned to work aJazz-Raptorsgame in Salt Lake City on Monday," Woodyard added.

The Jazz's game in Oklahoma City was postponed just before tip Wednesday night after Utah center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus. The Athletic and Stadium's Shams Charania first reported the diagnosis.

Jazz All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell tested positive Thursday morning.

Charania reported Saturday that Detroit Pistons forward Christian Wood is the third NBA player to test positive for the coronavirus:

There are now over 3,000 cases of the coronavirus in the United States, according to CNN. Sixty-one people in the country have died.
