I want to take as many review trips as possible as the year progresses. I am trying to take quick trips that allow me to review as many products as possible, so that I don't have to leave my house.
I will be flying to Southeast Asia via Europe in both directions in 2023. This will be my first trip to Southeast Asia in over a year. It's yow.
Air Canada Aeroplan points are the only ones used to book this trip. I will give you more information about how I booked when I publish the trip report series.
I am going to fly Austrian Airlines across the Atlantic. I will be flying to Vienna on a plane that I haven't reviewed in a decade. I will be flying an Austrian A320 within Europe in order to get ready for my next flight. While I reviewed Austrian in the past, I am curious to see how the rest of the fleet is doing.
I don't know if I'm more excited about this or the next part of the trip. Gulf Air has reinvented itself in the last few years, and I should experience that during the entire journey.
I will be flying from Europe to Bahrain on a fully flat bed plane. I am looking forward to checking out Gulf Air's new terminal and lounge. I will connect to Southeast Asia on Gulf Air's Boeing 787-9 with my favorite business class seats.
I am curious to see how the carrier's soft product is. I last flew Gulf Air in the year 2000.
I have flown Singapore Airlines before, but I haven't flown the Boeing plane. This is a new addition to Singapore's fleet and has a new product. I am curious to see how this compares to previous flights from Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines has a lounge at the airport.
This is where the trip gets really fun, and where Aeroplan shines with its wide range of airline partners. Bamboo Airways is a strange and fascinating airline startup in Vietnam.
I will fly the airline on both short and long haul flights. I will fly the carrier's A321 on a regional flight and then the Boeing 787-9 on the next flight. I don't know what to expect but I can't wait to see it. I have flown Vietnam Airlines on both the Boeing 787-9 and the A350-900, so I am curious to see how it compares.
I haven't flown Air Canada on a long haul flight in a long time. I was able to find saver level award space on Air Canada, so I will be flying from Europe to Canada on the Boeing 787-9 and then from Canada to Miami on the Boeing 887-9. I want to see how Air Canada's soft product is.
I booked a review trip with Aeroplan points and am excited to start the new year. I will fly Austrian Airlines, Gulf Air, Singapore Airlines, Bamboo Airways, and Air Canada. I am very happy with the points value I received, and will lay that out in the actual series.
Please let me know if you have any predictions about the flights, or if you have any tips for the airlines.
