Beach erosion caused by Hurricane Nicole and Ian has caused a mysterious object to poke out of the sand at Daytona Beach Shores.
The New York Times reports that the object is 80 feet long and made of wood and metal. The officials can only guess at what they are looking into.
According to the NYT, a spokeswoman for the beach safety organization said it was a mystery. Many people think it's an older ship.
Some people think that the object is a piece of an old pier, or that it could be a piece of NASCAR seating that was lost.
The two hurricanes that made their way to the US this summer have caused a lot of erosion.
"We haven't seen erosion like this in a long time," Tammy Malphurs said. I've been on the beach for 25 years, but I've never seen it exposed.
Unusual objects have been found across the world this year due to extreme climate change. Entire lost villages and ancient ruins have been found by low water levels.
It is only a matter of time before we find out what the object is. We can't do much for now.
