The airport experience has greatly improved since the introduction of the TSA PreCheck. In this post, I want to show you how to easily check if the PreCheck lane is open or not based on when you travel.
You can use the tool on the website to find the schedule for the PreCheck checkpoint. To use the tool, you have to choose the airport, the day of the week and the time you are traveling.
When you choose the airport, day, and time, you will see all the open PreCheck checkpoint. You can assume a checkpoint is closed if it isn't listed.
Since the Tom Bradley International Terminal is not listed, you will see that the PreCheck checkpoint is available in all airports.
There are many credit cards that will reimburse your Global Entry membership fee if you enroll in the TSA PreCheck program.
I like the fact that the lanes are almost always shorter than the standard security lines. I think it is important to know in advance if a checkpoint will be open so you can get to the airport early.
CLEAR can save you time at security, but I don't think the time savings are as consistent as they could be.
Nowadays you can find a PreCheck lane when a checkpoint is open. Smaller airports and terminals with quiet periods during certain times of the day are exceptions.
There are a few other things to keep in mind.
It is possible to save a lot of time at the airport with the program. Not all checkpoint have TSA PreCheck lanes at all hours of the day. It is important to know if you can expect to have PreCheck at the airport.
What have you experienced with airport security?
