On 6th November, a Precision Air ATR 42 crashed into the lake while attempting to land at the airport. The plane was on final approach to runway 31 when it crashed.

There were 39 passengers and 4 crew members on the flight that was operated by the ATR 42-500. At least 26 people have been rescued so far but it was not known if there were any deaths. The exact number of passengers and crew members that have been rescued is unknown.

A lot of people have been saved. There were problems and bad weather when the plane was in the air. The plane fell into the water. The Kagera province police commander said everything was under control.

The plane is almost completely submerged in the footage shared on social media.

Emergency workers are trying to rescue other passengers trapped in the plane.

“I have received with sadness the news of the accident involving Precision Air’s plane. Let’s be calm at this moment when rescuers are continuing with the rescue mission while praying to God to help us.”

At the time of the accident, the weather was poor. 2.5 hours before the incident the Metar weather report was available. There were scattered clouds at 1200 feet, Cumulonimbus clouds at 1400 feet, and broken clouds at 8000 feet.
