Adding package tracking to the list of things Gmail can do is a good idea.
Tracking incoming packages is now possible with the help of the online email client. Delivery status will be displayed in the inbox list view, as well as in a summary card on top of individual emails, if the email contains tracking numbers.
Detailed tracking and order details can be seen if you click on the summary.
Tracking will be available across most major U.S. shipping carriers, according to the company. You can opt out at any time by going to Gmail's settings, but you'll have to allow Gmail to search for tracking numbers in your inbox.
It would be nice if this feature went, but it's a feature I warmly welcome, given that my package tracking consists of getting an email with shipping confirmation, reading it, forgetting about it, and repeating this process many times.
Tracking will be available in the coming weeks.
A new feature for package tracking has been announced. The delayed package will be moved to the top of your inbox and a "delay" label will be displayed. The feature will be live soon.
