After flying through a hail storm, the LATAM A320's engine and radome were damaged. The nose radome had splintered due to the turbulence. There are 48 people on the plane that is performing flight LA 1325 from Santiago in chile to Asuncion. The crew decided to make a safe landing at Foz de Iguacu after the storm. The aircraft was on approach to Asuncion's runway 20 when the crew initiated a go-around because of the weather.
After more than three hours on the ground in Foz de Iguacu, the plane left for Asuncion. The aircraft got caught in a storm and had to make a safe landing about five hours after it left the ground.
The aircraft made an emergency landing in Asuncion after it encountered severe weather on its flight path.
Passengers and crew disembarked in good shape despite the damage.
