Do you need to show a friend or relative what you are up to, but don't have a phone? It is possible to share your calendar from your MacBook.

Before you start, you need to make sure that the calendar you want to share is stored in the cloud, not on your local computer. You can check if this is the case by going to the calendar preferences.

How to share a calendar from your Mac

You can open the calendar app on your mac. There is a list of your calendars on the left. Click on it to share it with others. You can click on the calendar to share it. Press Enter if you want to share the calendar with someone else. The person you are sharing with will get an invite if you press Enter. You can click Done.

You can change the permission they have after you add someone. Click the down arrow to view only or view and edit. If they missed it the first time, you can send them a new invite.

It is possible to make the calendar a public one. If you share a URL with someone, they will be able to subscribe to your calendar on a read only basis. If you like it, you can do this for any calendar that is remotely personal.

How to stop sharing a calendar from your Mac

This part is the easy one.

You can stop sharing at any time if you decide that your calendar sharing has gotten out of control or if your friend or family member's services are no longer needed. Nobody will be able to view your calendar on the internet if you take it away. There is a way to do that.

Click on it. If you want to stop sharing, click the button. On the popup, click stop sharing again.

If you check the public calendar box, you can see theShared icon next to the calendar. The box is easy to misplace. If you want to fix this, right-click on the calendar, and then click on the public calendar button. Press Done when you're finished.
