In the latest developer build of Windows 11, Microsoft is adding support for third-party developers and video calling for chat from Microsoft Teams. There are new features in the preview build for Windows Insiders.
It is now possible for developers to create and testwidgets that can be added to the windows 11 panel. The shipping version of their apps can be found in the Microsoft Store once the Insider Preview build is officially released to the public. Microsoft Edge will support Progressive Web App (PWA) Widgets in the future, but only for Win32 apps at the moment.
The Microsoft Store will eventually include third-partyWidgets.
A sneak peek at a new video calling experience for chat from Microsoft Teams is included in the Insider preview. You will be able to see a preview of your own video feed when you open chat from the taskbar. A small subset of users will already have access to the feature as part of a sneak preview release. If you want to check if you are one of the lucky few, you can launch chat from your computer.
Some design changes to the Microsoft Store are included in the Insider Preview build 25217. The store makes it clear if a game is included as part of Game Pass to spare you from buying a game you don't need. The Game Pass library is getting some changes.
If you want to try them out, you can sign up for the Windows Insider Program and get the latest developer builds as they are released.
