Chase Mitchell took to social media to share his experience flying American Airlines from Los Angeles to Philadelphia.
The man next to him asked if he would give up his aisle seat for the woman in the middle of the plane. If you didn't understand the need to offer value for value, things were headed south on the journey. Mitchell swore off documenting further drama because he didn't see where this was going, since he was sharing to social media in real time.
I’m not gonna do one of those like, in-flight tweet threads on this dude but I will say that he also forgot headphones and is now watching stuff on his phone at full volume which is some shit I have not seen before

The man wasn't wearing headphones. The footage of trumpets is loud and strange. The sound of trumpets being blasted. The TV writer noted the lack of seat back entertainment on American Airlines, and he didn't understand how Mitchell could have been streaming on his phone.
The trumpet man and his wife were told they were supposed to use headphones to listen to music. They weren't drinking booze. They were shooting rum and chasing it with water. Things got weird when Trumpet man declared that he was becoming ill, and started having outbursts.
He needs to get up and out of there VERY fast, so I get out of his way. After a long time, he comes back to his seat. Right when we’re all back situated, he IMMEDIATELY needs to go again
Each time I’m standing up to let him out, I’m making sure to unhook my phone from the seatback and put it back in my pocket. …Every time he sits back down, he’s really performative a/b how sick he is – keeps yelling “I THREW UP 3 TIMES” …closer to landing, he needs to go a THIRD time. This time he’s straight up rude about it.
Before the man became sick at his seat, Mitchell got up and couldn't get his phone. He couldn't locate the phone. He is looking all around. He is looking under his seat. He asked Trumpet Man's wife if she knew anything. He didn't have a computer, didn't have a phone, and didn't know where he could get a hotel reservation for the night.
Flight attendants said he thought Mitchell was using the phone to coordinate a conspiracy on the plane.
I start panicking and go talk to the flight attendants. First we’re just commiserating about the couple – they’ve been putting up with their shit too – and one of the FAs casually says, “Yeah the guy told me he thought you were like, using your phone to plan something. He’s nuts”

The passenger said that the guy pulled the phone out of the seat while he was going to the bathroom. The phone is in the bathroom. The man is asked if he has the phone. The man is starting to become paranoid.
He again, denies it, a little more frantically this time. Without naming or pointing out the other passenger who told me, I tell him that someone told me they saw him do it. He demands to know who. I realize this may have been the wrong approach

So basically we’re at a standstill – I’m still panicking where and in what state my phone it is – and quietly it’s made clear to me that this guy will be escorted off and patted down when we land. Also, in all of this – we’re about to land and… I gotta find a new place to sit

The man is leaving the plane. Mitchell is taken out onto the bridge. The man admits to taking the phone, but says it is proof of Mitchell's plot. Mitchell doesn't press charges after getting his phone back.
People who are conspiracy-minded should not drink on planes.
I think it's true.
I don't think anyone was confused about the location of the Milwaukee airport, even though they put Milwaukee in the airport name. The idea that more people will see MKE as an option when they want to fly to Milwaukee is ridiculous.
In airports.
Kevin Mitchell of the Business Travel Coalition is in favor of a federal face mask mandate. The current airline policy has more exemptions than a mask mandate. Business travel is not being done.
In airlines.
The actor who played Eazy-E in Straight Outta Compton said that Delta double booked his seat. He had a bad day. There's a chance you'll watch.
In general.
