If you have fallen behind in your attempt to gain or keep elite status in the Mileage Plan program, now is the time to get back in the game.

Through the early part of November, you can get a 50% boost on elite qualified miles.

The flight must be from or within the state of California between October 1 and November 10.

The promotion was announced on the social media site.

Alaska Mileage Plan members can earn elite status with 20,000 elite qualified miles, which is the first tier. You can start with complimentary upgrades, priority check-in and 50% mileage bonuses.

It is possible to earn elite Alaska status for the first time with the help of these 50% bonuses.

CLINT HENDERSON/THE POINTS GUY

If you live in New York and have flown Alaska a few times this year, you could get a boost to your status goals. You have a ways to go to get to the point where you are considered anMVP.

There is a single round trip from Newark/Liberty International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport. For the October round trip, you would normally earn 2,343 elite miles in each direction, or 4,894 miles. You would get a 50% bonus on those miles, which would bring your earnings to 7,341 miles.
