The publisher hasn't just been riding the show's coattails, they've been doing it for a long time Archie isn't afraid to mix it up, he mixes it up between weird mash-ups and horror comics. We have an exclusive preview of the new horror comic, which features Betty Cooper, a girl next door, taking on John Carpenter's Thing.
Frank Tieri is the writer of "Betty Cooper: Alien Hunter", and he wants anyone who is a fan of "Jughead: The Hunger" to like it. It's not quite. When an alien ends up at Pop's, Betty has to figure out who is an alien and who isn't Betty being Betty may prove to be a bigger threat to the wellbeing of Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe than the alien itself.
There is a frozen research station at Pop's. In Weirder Mysteries, there are other tales. The sci-fi story "Bingo Wilkin Day" will be written by Ron Robbins, who says he was able to craft a "horrifying and curious sci-fi story" with the icons of the genre. Our heroes use dream science and advanced artificial intelligence to fight Archie characters who may be a bit more villainous than ever before. There is a tale called "A Wrinkle in Time" that is set in the Riverdale of 205o. The writer says thatAlexandra is willing to go to terrifying lengths to upstage the Pussycat's singer and make a name for herself.
io9 is happy to show the previews of all three stories.
There will be a series called Fear the Funhouse, where the Teenage Witch's cat helps other neighborhood animals get revenge, among other things.
Weirder Mysteries, with art by Juan Bobillo, Federico Sabbattini, and Ryan Jampole, will be released on September 21.
